1. Steering lock bind

3. Worn or failed cylinder

Symptom: every key feels rough. Grittiness, catching, needing to jiggle regardless of which key you use.

Cause: the wafers inside the cylinder wear against the blade over tens of thousands of cycles. Grit, lint, and old lubricant accelerate it. Eventually alignment fails.

4. Failed ignition switch
