Lost your truck keys? We replace and program keys for every truck on Fort Worth roads — F-150, Silverado, Ram, Tundra, Sierra, Tacoma, Frontier, Colorado, and more.

Truck Key Replacement: Texas-Sized Demand

Texas leads the nation in truck ownership, and the Fort Worth metro area is one of the top truck markets in the state. F-150s, Silverados, and Rams dominate Fort Worth roads — and we service them all. Truck keys have evolved dramatically over the past two decades. The traditional metal key with a basic remote has been replaced by sophisticated smart key systems with push-button start, remote start, tailgate release, and even phone-as-key technology on the newest models. Each truck manufacturer uses different key systems and security protocols. Ford uses SecuriCode/Intelligent Access with PATS immobilizer. GM (Chevrolet, GMC) uses the Keyless Entry/Push Button Start system with the Theft Deterrent module. Ram/Dodge uses the Sentry Key system with the WIN (Wireless Ignition Node) module. Toyota uses the Smart Key System with Techstream-based programming. We carry truck key blanks and fobs for the most popular models in our mobile inventory, allowing same-day replacement for most trucks. For less common models, we can typically source the key within 24 hours.

Ford F-150 / Super Duty Key Replacement

The Ford F-150 is the best-selling vehicle in America and our most commonly serviced truck. Key systems vary by generation. F-150 2015-2023 and Super Duty 2017+ use Ford's Intelligent Access system with a proximity smart key. The key fob enables keyless entry, push-button start, remote start, power tailgate operation, and SecuriCode keypad access. Programming requires Ford IDS/FDRS diagnostic tools. F-150 2009-2014 use a combination of transponder keys and separate remote fobs, with the Intelligent Access smart key available on higher trims. The PATS immobilizer uses 80-bit or 128-bit transponder encryption. Older F-150s (1996-2008) use PATS transponder keys with 40-bit or 80-bit encryption. Some of these can be programmed with an on-board procedure if you have two working keys; all-keys-lost requires Ford IDS. For F-250, F-350, and F-450 Super Duty trucks, the key systems mirror the F-150 within each generation but may have additional features like chassis cab configurations and PTO (Power Take-Off) controls. We program keys for every F-Series generation at your location — ranch, job site, parking lot, or driveway.

Chevrolet Silverado / GMC Sierra Key Replacement

The Silverado and Sierra share their key systems across equivalent model years. Silverado/Sierra 2019+ use GM's latest smart key system with proximity detection and push-button start. The key fob provides keyless entry, remote start, tailgate release (MultiPro/CarbonPro tailgate on equipped models), and stolen vehicle tracking integration. Programming requires GM GDS2. Silverado/Sierra 2014-2018 use a transitional system — some trims have smart key/push-button start while base trims use traditional transponder keys with separate remotes. GDS2 handles both configurations. Silverado/Sierra 2007-2013 primarily use PK3+ transponder keys. These keys contain an encrypted chip that communicates with the BCM. Some models in this range have remote start capability through a separate fob. Older Silverados/Sierras (1999-2006) use PK3 transponder or Passlock systems. The Passlock system is known for failure — if your truck cranks but won't start, and the theft light is flashing, the Passlock sensor in the ignition cylinder may be failing. We handle all GM truck key programming on-site, including the common Passlock relearn and Theft Deterrent module reset procedures.

Ram 1500 / 2500 / 3500 Key Replacement

Ram trucks (previously Dodge Ram) use Chrysler/FCA key systems. Ram 2019+ use the latest Sentry Key system with proximity smart key and push-button start standard on most trims. The key fob handles keyless entry, remote start, cargo light activation, and trailer brake disconnect on equipped models. Programming requires wiTECH diagnostic tools. Ram 2013-2018 introduced proximity smart keys on higher trims while base trims retained traditional keys. This generation is known for RF Hub failures — if your fob suddenly stops being detected by the truck, the RF Hub (radio frequency receiver module) is the most common cause. Ram 2009-2012 use the Sentry Key immobilizer with transponder keys and separate fobs. The SKIM (Sentry Key Immobilizer Module) manages key recognition. Older Ram trucks (2002-2008) use the Sentry Key system with SKIM programming. Key programming requires either an on-board procedure with two working keys or wiTECH for all-keys-lost. Texas Ram owners — if your truck key fob stops working and holding the fob against the start button starts the truck, the RF Hub is likely failed. This is a very common Ram issue and we carry RF Hub modules for same-day repair.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does truck key replacement cost?

Truck key replacement ranges from $150-$300 for transponder keys and $200-$400 for smart key fobs, depending on the make and model. All-keys-lost adds $50-$150. All prices include the key, cutting, programming, and testing.

Can you come to my job site to replace truck keys?

Absolutely. Our mobile service goes anywhere in the Fort Worth area — job sites, ranches, parking lots, highways, driveways. Wherever your truck is, we come to you.

My Ram fob stopped working but the truck starts when I hold the fob against the button — what's wrong?

This is a classic RF Hub failure — the receiver module in the truck that detects the fob wirelessly has failed. The backup method bypasses the RF Hub. We carry RF Hub modules and can replace and program it same-day.

Do you replace keys for diesel trucks?

Yes. Diesel and gas trucks use the same key systems. We service F-250/350 Power Stroke, Silverado/Sierra Duramax, and Ram Cummins trucks with the same tools and procedures.
